An interesting idea, but I’m not sure if we can offer a group discount. We wouldn’t likely do it for other organizations, unless we did a shared conference with another library group.

Good afternoon,

In response to my email about the UNYOC’24 CE, one of our Canadian colleagues has asked about a group rate.
Before responding to her, I wanted to discuss via email with the planning and executive committees.

My first inclination is to say no, and explain that we are using professional development opportunities to increase chapter membership.
We can also point out that registration is cheaper (by $5) if you become a member.

I am also interested to know who can make a decision like this. Does it have to be put up for a vote?
If this should be discussed in a meeting, should we wait until Friday’s planning meeting at 10am?

It has taken much longer than usual to engage a presenter for this year’s continuing education session. Many thanks to our Continuing Education Chair, Sarah Lawler, for her determination and creativity in finding the right fit for our meeting. As you may recall from my August 12th email, we are holding the UNYOC Members Business Meeting and Continuing Education session online, one week prior to the in-person conference. Please put a hold on your calendar for Wednesday, October 16, 2024: Business Meeting (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) AND CE Session (1:00 pm – 3:15 pm).
