Subject: [util] Planned Electrical Shutdown – WHA Power Upgrade (July 18, 2026)

To support the ongoing WHA power upgrade project, a planned electrical shutdown will be performed to allow the contractor to modify the 480V electrical distribution serving WHA.
Please review the details below:

  *   Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026

  *   Time: 6:00 AM – Approximately 2:00 PM (approximately 8 hours)

  *   Affected Buildings:

     *   Clark Tower

     *   CAB

     *   Jacobsen Hall

     *   NAB

     *   Silverman Hall

     *   Weiskotten Hall Addition (WHA)

  *   Impact:
Normal 4160V power will be shut down to the buildings listed above.
Emergency power will not be affected.
The affected buildings will be without normal power, and occupants should not be in the buildings during the scheduled outage.

  *   Scope of Work:
The contractor will be modifying the 480V electrical loads in WHA. This work involves the distribution equipment DV, which serves the exhaust fan towers and the penthouse within WHA.

  *   Additional Information:
Because the exhaust fan systems (fume hoods) will be out of service during the outage, all materials currently stored in fume hoods should be secured in an appropriate alternate location prior to the shutdown.
