[CHPFacultyStaff] Instituting card swipe access

Dear CHP faculty and staff-
Recently there has been a person or persons posed as EVS employees seeking access to our areas. Astute employees have denied access, but apparently this has happened elsewhere on campus. We have been advised to institute card swipe access to our areas, including faculty hallways and the dean’s office suite. Please advise our students of these restriction, making sure that they have access to the areas they need. There is no evidence of imminent danger, just request for access for unknown and unplanned reasons. University Police is investigating this matter and will advise of us when we can return to more normal access.

This highlights the need to be attentive to people attempting to access our buildings without an Upstate ID card. Please be certain to refer them to the main Weiskotten entrance so they can be screened appropriately.
