<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Please extend a warm welcome to Dr. Melissa Murfin who joins our physician assistant studies program as Clinical Associate Professor. </span></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif"> </span></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif; color:black">Dr. Melissa Murfin earned a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology/Microbiology at the University of Central Florida and worked in environmental chemistry and drug
discovery research before returning to graduate school. Dr. Murfin earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degrees concurrently in a dual degree program at the University of Florida. She has worked primarily as a PA in
endocrinology and internal medicine and is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist.<br>
<br>
Dr. Murfin discovered a passion for education and has been teaching healthcare provider students since 2009. She thrives on innovation and developing a variety of methods for students to connect to course material. Dr. Murfin enjoys research and has interests
in outcomes of game-based learning and improving patient care utilizing pharmacogenetics and has presented nationally on both topics. She lives near Cortland with her husband and two dogs and loves hiking, kayaking, board games, and fiber arts. </span></p>
