PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The 2022 Healthcare Coalition Emergency Management Virtual Seminar: WRHEPC Pediatric Emergency Preparedness will provide a broad overview of potential care needs for the pediatric patient involved in an emergency/disaster situation.  The goal is to improve collaboration of the local healthcare community towards the best pediatric care possible. The webinar series will include information for medical, trauma and crisis response specific to the most vulnerable population in any emergency event, children.

Seminar Objectives:

  *   Improve healthcare outcomes and advance the care of our pediatric population through pediatric focused education for our community healthcare partners.
  *   Increase knowledge in the initial and ongoing treatment of pediatric trauma, respiratory, neurological and infectious disease emergencies.
  *   Describe the concepts of surge with specific focus on pediatric implications in a disaster event that are unique to the pediatric population, as well as discuss the impact of those considerations on planning and response efforts

AGENDA/TOPICS/SPEAKERS:
This FREE virtual seminar  will occur over 2 days (May 10 & 11, 2022).  Each session/day will include three 1hr presentations starting at 8:30am and concluding by noon.  Registrants can select to attend one or both sessions.  CME (EMS & ACCME) will be available.  EMS registrants must attend the entire ½ day session to claim EMS CME.

This seminar is a NYSDOH OHEP Pre-Approved Training

A Certificate of Attendance for each session will be available to all attendees that complete a post-session evaluation.

This activity has been approved by NYS BEMS for a maximum of 3 EMS CME/day (max 6 EMS CME for attending both sessions).  EMS CME Core/Non-Core Credits for each session will be listed on the Certificate of Attendance.  EMS Attendees must attend an entire ½ day session to claim EMS CME.

Regional Training Center (RTC) Grant funds are available to cover the cost of ACCME for appropriate Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Coalition (HEPC) attendees that work in the Western, Central New York, Capital District and Metropolitan Area Regions of NYS (excluding NYC).
**We ask that you only request ACCME if your NYS Licensed Profession requires continuing medical education for license/certification renewal. This may include physicians, mid-level providers and nurses.

ACCREDITATION: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, John R. Oishei Children's Hospital and the Finger Lakes Regional Training Center.
