New Feature: View Synapse images in Haiku / Canto

Today we are adding the ability to view radiology studies* (and other Synapse images) from your mobile device using Haiku / Canto.

To use this new feature, films will be loaded either with the native browser or you can choose to download the Synapse app from your App Store. [Note that, for images viewed using the app, no server setup is necessary. ].

• Please note-  downloading the app is not necessary to use this new feature.
• Please note - if you are using iOS 13, Synapse occasionally gives a browser error that is avoided by using the app.

There are 2 ways to view images from Haiku / Canto

1.  Study level images: When you are in a patient chart, choose the results activity and find the study you want to see. Scroll down to the bottom and you will see a button called “Show Images”
2. View all images for the patient: When you are in a patient chart, choose the links activity (the last icon to the right) at the bottom of the screen. Choose the “IMAGES” link.
    a. To get to links activity- scroll (drag) the icons at the bottom of the screen all the way to the left- the links activity is the last icon (looks like a bar graph).

Both methods will ask if you want to view using the web browser (in Haiku / Canto) or the Synapse App- choose the one you want (the functionality is identical). After this point, the system functions identically to Synmobility (Images Activity) on the desktop version of Epic.

*Images displayed on a small screen and phone/tablet resolutions  are not considered diagnostic quality  Full diagnostic quality monitors are located in radiology reading room where films can be reviewed with the radiology staff.
