[epicproviders] Effective 4/07/2025: Second Line Therapy Options for Fever

[Epic - All Provider Staff]

Effective 4/07/2025:  All orders and order sets that include acetaminophen and/or ibuprofen have been updated to include new PRN Reasons:  FEVER - FIRST LINE and FEVER - SECOND LINE.

  *   Providers are not required to order a second line medication.
  *   If deemed necessary, the provider will order the second medication and select the "FEVER - SECOND LINE" option.
  *   The same medication cannot be ordered for both first and second line to prevent potential overdose.
  *   The PRN details will be visible on the MAR as shown below.
  *   The second line medication should not be administered until at least 60 minutes have passed to ensure the first line medication has had time to be effective.
