To all ambulatory users:

An IMPORTANT Epic workflow change update will be available in Epic on Thursday, May 8th.

The 'Plan' and 'Wrap-up' tabs are being replaced with a combined 'This Visit' tab.

Why: This is an Epic-mandated change. It is intended to decrease clutter and clicks, enhancing both usability and efficiency.

What: The new layout of the 'This Visit' tab is displayed below, explaining the configuration.

Problems are grouped together in the top left panel, with Visit Diagnosis above the Problem List. This (1) encourages the selection of Visit Diagnoses first (reducing subsequent clicks for linking diagnoses with orders) and
(2) keeps the section visible above a potentially long Problem List.

Orders are all logically grouped together in the lower left panel and taskbar.

Alerts are kept visible and 'above the fold' at the upper right to ensure visibility of important quality and safety recommendations.

One time end-of-visit tools are grouped together in the lower right panel and taskbar. (Note that LOS has moved to the taskbar!)

Where: The new 'This Visit' tab should appear in place of your current 'Plan' tab. If it is NOT visible (possibly due to your having many tabs in your workspace), click the ellipsis (...) tab and drag the 'This Visit' tab to your desired position.

How: If you wish to personalize the layout of your 'This Visit' tab, click on the wrench icon at the upper right of the activity and select 'Modify Navigator Layout'. You may then drag and drop the sections to your preferred locations.
