Good day Drs. Delibasi and Feuerstein,



On behalf of course director Dr. Sarsfield and first-year students enrolled in the Longitudinal Clinical Preceptorship, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your participation in this course.  This is a new course that will benefit in future iterations from better communication with students and preceptors alike; your patience with the undergraduate medical education team while we navigate so many changes has been appreciated.



At this time, we are preparing for our next cohort, who will start rotating at outpatient sites the week AFTER Labor Day [starting Monday 9/9/24].  There will still be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon slots [1p-5p] available, and they will still attend every other week on average.  In a change to scheduling for next year, there will be no LCP sessions on weeks where there is a holiday, to avoid creating more work for students and preceptors alike to reschedule.  Please advise if you're willing to take a student(s) to rotate from September 2024-May 2025.  If so, can you share which day of the week works best, and how many students you can take [For example, if you tell me Tuesday and 2 students, that would mean you have a student every week on Tuesday, with the exception of holiday weeks or HSS weeks, where students are unable to complete the LCP].



Additionally, if there is someone else in your office or that you've spoken to, whether at Upstate or not, who might be interested in taking on a student, please let me know who they are and I can reach out to share details.  We are always looking for more preceptors and would love if you had any recommendations.
