[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - Fecal Occult Blood Testing Update

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing. In an attempt to keep us all on the same page, the Laboratory Formulary Committee will be regularly sending out emails with recent updates and guidances. Below are the short versions of relevant changes. Attached are more in-depth resources about the changes.

Fecal Occult Blood testing change #2: The shortage of the developer agent for the FIT testing using the Hemoccult ICT collection card (EPIC code LAB8680) has resolved and this testing is available again.  FIT testing is preferred test to evaluate for lower GI bleeding.  The SENSA test using the Hemoccult SENSA collection card (EPIC Code LAB694) remains available and is the preferred testing for upper GI bleeding.
