[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Update - Fecal Calprotectin in-house testing

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing. In an attempt to keep us all on the same page, the Laboratory Formulary Committee will be regularly sending out emails with recent updates and guidances. Below are the short versions of relevant changes. Attached are more in-depth resources about the changes.

Fecal Calprotectin Testing: Fecal Calprotectin (EPIC code LAB10220) is an assay used in diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).  This testing has previously been provided only through sending samples to an outside laboratory for analysis.  Starting March 18, 2021, Fecal Calprotectin testing will be offered through our Upstate Clinical Chemistry laboratory.  Please see the attached guidance for details.
