[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - Send-out testing hurricane interruption

Interruption to Send-out Testing Transport:  Upstate was recently informed that disruption in national shipping due to Hurricane Francine is expected to affect transport of specimens for some send-out testing performed at reference laboratories for Thursday September 12th and Friday September 13th.  We do not anticipate this this will affect any test that has a separate Epic Code.  Instead, we expect that this will only affect some tests which are ordered using the "Miscellaneous" Epic order (LAB4116), particularly those requiring the specimen to be tested within a short time from collection.  Clinicians are recommended to contact the core laboratory (315-464-6729) prior to ordering any send-out miscellaneous tests to ask if that specific test will be affected and should not be collected at this time.
