[mdphd] Schedules, Expectations, Resources: GR's, etc..

Good afternoon,

Grand Rounds starts-up this Thursday, August 17, for the year. There are 29 presentations, with slightly less than ½ being virtual. Please plan to attend and submit feedback for 95% of our presentations, with a maximum of 2 excused absences, as meals are ordered accordingly, and your participation and feedback is valued and essential. For any absences (excused or unexcused), I would appreciate you letting me know ahead of time when possible. Excused absences may include illness or approved travel.

Please note that I scheduled holiday/winter breaks and time for dedicated STEP 1 studying (mid-August – March). We hope you plan your other commitments, studying and experiments accordingly throughout the year. We look forward to a great year ahead!

1st & 2nd year PhD students- encourage to explore specialties.

3rd+ year students- encouraged to develop skills (IM, EM, family medicine, hospital)

-MDPhD Standardized Patient Training replaces your clinical shadowing during the month in which you are scheduled for SP Training
