[mdphd] Getting involved - need student mentors ASAP

Good afternoon,

We are 5 new students arriving and the SURF program starting in a few weeks and I am still looking for student mentors, another person for the SURF MDPhD panel and someone to head a MDPhD Social Committee.

Student mentors:
Opeyemi- Olivia
Katie – Kevin
Kailey - ?
Saisha- ?
Tracy- ?

·    Connecting with your student mentee before they arrive June 3rd. There are three students I am still trying to match to peer student mentors with. See above list.
·    Having lunch with your mentee after their HR Orientation on June 3rd (lunch on 9th floor WH at 11:30)
·    Meeting formally with your mentee and myself in my office once over the summer in June or July. We will review a check-list of new student questions/concerns and decide if any specific supports are required (before med-school begins).
·    Meeting formally another time in the fall (with or without me, depending on what is needed to discuss).
·    Meeting informally on an at-need basis throughout your mentee’s first year of training

SURF MDPhD Panel:
1PM June 20th (with lunch)

MDPhD Social Committee:
Just someone who would enjoy organizing HH here and there and other fun things, as needed.
