[mdphd] MDPhD Program Immersion Days - Student Participation

Dear MD/PhD students,



Thank you to those who have participated in our 2025 recruitment and admissions cycle, so far. You may have interviewed, sat on a student panel, and/or connected with applicants individually. There are several times during the year in which students may receive a request for assistance during our recruitment events. In your graduate school years, we ask that you adjust your schedule accordingly. In the medical school years, we ask that you participate as your schedule allows. Your participation improves our program and is appreciated.



MD/PhD Program Immersion Days are March 5 + 6 (formally known as Accepted Student Days). We have 13 visitors this year. Our visitors are a mix of admitted candidates and candidates on the High Priority Alternate list.



Please carefully review the full agenda (attached) and the following student participation expectations:



  *   Everyone should attend, as schedules allow



  *   Everyone should attend, as schedules allow, mandatory for Student Hosts and/or COGS Students


  *   Everyone should attend, as schedules allow + attendance to both social events will earn you an extra excused absence from Grand Rounds to use at any point during your training


  *   Mandatory for all MD/PhD students



Wednesday, March 5, 2025



2:00 – 3:00: Welcome Reception

3:00 – 4:00: Afternoon Tea with the College of Graduate Studies

Weiskotten 3113 (coffee, tea, charcuterie, fruit, desserts)



6:00 – 8:00: Social Hour

Thursday, March 6, 2025



8:15– 11:00: Breakfast

Weiskotten 3113 (bagels, coffee, juice, fruit, granola, yogurt)



12:00 – 4:30: Sandwiches and coffee with MD/PhD students by lab

Weiskotten 3113 (sandwiches, sides, and coffee/tea)

·         12:00-12:30: Lab members of Solessio, Auerbach, Hess, Middleton, Liu Labs

·         12:30-1:00: Lab members of Waickman, Chan, Thangamani, Ganapathy Labs

·         1:00-1:30:  Lab members of Amack, Krendel, Pruyne Labs

·         1:30-2:00:  Lab members of Chen, Loh, Knutson, Kotula Labs



4:30 – 6:00: MD/PhD Grand Rounds

NAB 4414A (EVERYONE please arrive promptly at 4:30 for dinner and mingling with our guests- Dosa Grill)



7:00: Game Night
