Dear Graduate Students,



Are you looking to add some teaching experience to your CV? GS467-009 Nanocourse: SURF Journal Club is scheduled to begin in late May with a kick-off meeting.



This course was created to give graduate students the opportunity to organize, moderate, and evaluate undergraduates who are participating in Upstate’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program.



There will be an initial meeting for registered participants in late May (date/time TBD). You will meet with your undergraduate students during the week of June 1, when the program starts. The program will meet weekly on Wednesday mornings and run for ~6 weeks until each SURF student has had a chance to present.



Your responsibilities will be to organize the journal club, moderate each meeting, and provide feedback to the students. If enough students register, there will be two organizers per journal club. If you are interested, please contact Andrea Cifonelli in the College of Graduate Studies (cifonela at upstate.edu<mailto:cifonela at upstate.edu>) stating your interest, along with your Upstate ID number.
