[mdphd] SURF Participant Recruitment for Summer Research Study

Dear Colleagues,

We are recruiting adults to take part in a research study evaluating a computer vision-based prototype software program designed to estimate performance during commonly used clinical motor outcome measures.
You may be eligible if you are 18-40 years old, are able to walk independently, and do not have a current injury or medical condition that affects your balance, walking, or ability to safely complete simple movement tests.
If you take part, you will attend one in-person study visit lasting about 60-90 minutes. During the visit, you will be asked to perform several balance and mobility tasks, such as walking 10 meters, standing from a chair, walking and turning, walking around cones, and standing on one leg. Your performance will be recorded on video. Two investigators will observe the tests live and record performance metrics using stopwatches and test sheets. The prototype software will estimate movement outcomes from the video data, and a trained evaluator may also score the tests later by watching the video recordings.
Taking part is voluntary. You may choose not to participate or stop participating at any time. If you are a student or employee, your decision will not affect your grades, class standing, employment, job duties, or relationship with SUNY Upstate Medical University.
There is no cost to participate. Participants will not be paid for taking part in this study.
