The event will be comprised of student talks and poster presentations, breakout sessions, panel discussions, and a dynamic keynote address by Dr. Bishal Gyawali, MD, PhD<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://oncology.queensu.ca/faculty-staff/bishal-gyawali__;!!GobTDDpD7A!PZrsm6GS_9Q7kV7qUMAjFOj2YpK7bC6QQB7_9TiI2H6CMebS-aINANC31T7McTsdDUut0tMlfDxZJFDJABX64g4rlw$ >. Dr. Bishal Gyawali, MD, PhD, FASCO, is a physician-scientist, medical oncologist, and Professor in the Department of Oncology and the Department of Division of Cancer Care and Epidemiology at Queen’s University. Known internationally for his work in global oncology, evidence-based medicine, and health policy, Dr. Gyawali combines clinical practice with a bold research agenda aimed at making cancer care more equitable, affordable, and effective. He is a committed educator whose work emphasizes critical thinking, cost-conscious care, and the evaluation of evidence in oncology. He is passionate about mentoring medical students, residents, and early-career oncologists, especially those from low- and middle-income countries. His teaching emphasizes the importance of scientific skepticism and the responsible use of healthcare resources. He regularly leads workshops and gives invited lectures on clinical trial design, cancer policy, and global disparities in oncology education.
