Unfortunately, I will not be able to mentor you this fall for your grand rounds presentations. This will affect students who will be presenting a 'clinical case study' on the grand rounds schedule. I am sorry that I am not able to provide the informational

 support for the clinical aspects of the cases. </div>

I would like to suggest an alternative for the 'clinical case study' presentations. I would suggest having each student present a paradigm shifting paper in their research field that has come out in the last three years. I would like you to send it out to the

 group one week before. I would like you to present the paper and offer your critical appraisal of the work. Then I would like you to answer two questions. How does this paper affect your research work? How can or will this paper affect patients? For mentorship

 I would suggest discussing this with your PI and invite them to our dinner. </div>

The standardized patient sessions in the simulation centers will go ahead as planned. The internal medicine chief residents have offered to mentor these sessions for this fall. I will be meeting with them this Thursday to talk through the learning objectives

 so that you have a positive experience. </div>
