In remembrance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 14th, 2024, we honor the Onondaga Nation, the original inhabitants of the land where Upstate Medical University stands. As part of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, their connection to this land has shaped its history for centuries.

We recognize the impacts of colonization and celebrate the resilience and contributions of Indigenous peoples. We are committed to learning from their history and wisdom for a more just and inclusive future.
