Good morning, all! My name is Katherine Heck, and I am a third-year medical student at the Medical University of South Carolina and Chair for the 2026 Psychotherapy Fair. We are officially seeking medical students to apply to join the Psychotherapy Fair Leadership Team! Here is a brief introduction to who we are and what we do:

"Being a part of the seventh annual Virtual Psychiatry Residency Psychotherapy Fair leadership team will provide a unique opportunity to learn about residency programs with strong psychotherapy training, correspond directly with residency directors and current residents, develop your leadership skills, and work alongside like-minded psychiatrists-to-be!

Last year, the fair was co-sponsored by the Psychotherapy Caucus of the APA and the Austen Riggs Center and took place entirely on Zoom. Over 30 psychiatry residency programs and a few hundred students/medical graduates applying for psychiatry residency were in attendance. This year, the fair will take place entirely on Zoom with a Saturday date between late August to early September 2026 (TBD), and Leadership Team members will need to be available that day to ensure a seamless, meaningful event. We hope to recreate and improve upon this successful event by recruiting a passionate, hard-working team of psychiatry applicants interested in psychotherapy!

To qualify for a position on the team, applicants must be:
      ➡   A member of the APA and the Psychotherapy Caucus (free membership for students)
      ➡   Interested in and excited about psychotherapy
      ➡   Organized, responsible, and dedicated!

      ➡   We aim to build a team of passionate rising MS4s and rising MS3s! Ideally, there will be one MS3 and one MS4 co-leading each position together.
