Subject: Management Forum Announcement ~ Cancer Center Leadership Updates
Dear Team,
To ensure that we have the leadership infrastructure needed to support the continued growth and advancement of the Upstate Cancer Center, we are pleased to share several important leadership updates.
Effective immediately, Dean Chin will serve as Interim Director of the Upstate Cancer Center. Dr. Chin's leadership and commitment to our mission will help guide the Cancer Center through this important period of continued expansion and development.
To further strengthen our Academic Cancer Programs, Dr. Thomas Vandermeer has graciously agreed to assume the role of Deputy Director of Academic Operations. In this position, Dr. Vandermeer will be able to dedicate focused attention to the continued growth of our Cancer Research Programs, while also advancing the integration of clinical trials more seamlessly into our patient care areas. His leadership will be instrumental in expanding our academic and research impact.
In addition, Dr. Jade Homsi has agreed to take on the role of Deputy Director of Clinical Operations. Alongside his responsibilities as Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology, Dr. Homsi will focus on optimizing clinical operations across all Cancer Center sites, helping ensure a consistently exceptional experience for both patients and care teams.
These leadership enhancements reflect our shared commitment to building a strong, collaborative structure that supports innovation, operational excellence, and outstanding patient centered care. Please join us in thanking Dr. Vandermeer, and Dr. Homsi for their willingness to step into these important roles and for their continued dedication to the future of the Upstate Cancer Center.
