Dear Upstate Medical Students,

As we do each year, ORMS would like to share an excellent research opportunity offered by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The NIH Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) is a highly competitive, year-long research training program for medical, dental, and veterinary students. Participants conduct basic, clinical, or translational research with an NIH mentor at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, or affiliated satellite campuses. The program also includes a structured curriculum, professional development, networking, and interactions with leading clinician-scientists.

Students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of medical school are eligible to apply.

Students interested in a dedicated research year and a career incorporating biomedical research are strongly encouraged to explore this opportunity and review the application requirements and deadlines. Details are shown in the attachment and below.

Best regards,

Dimitra Bourboulia, PhD
Director, Office of Research for Medical Students (ORMS)
