This summer issue highlights the success of the 2026 Cancer Center Annual Retreat and Trainee Symposium, recognizing outstanding faculty, trainees, and pilot grant recipients whose work is advancing cancer research at Upstate. The Notebook also features research and clinical spotlights on Dr. Atena Farhangian, Dr. Yamin Li, Dr. Eve Champaloux, and MD/PhD student Céline Hardy, showcasing innovative efforts in cancer biology, drug delivery, survivorship, and translational research.



In recognition of Sarcoma and Bone Cancer Awareness Month, this edition explores emerging advances in sarcoma research and the important role rehabilitation therapies play in improving outcomes and quality of life for patients. You'll also find information on an upcoming community engagement opportunity through the Run for the Refuge 5K.
