Dear Students,
Congratulations to those of you who started clerkships this week! I’ve received a few questions about UWorld and other items, so I wanted to share some clarifications.
You should have received access to your UWorld Step 2 bank yesterday. Please note that there is both a faculty section and a student question bank, and it seems as if folks aren't toggling to activate. If you have trouble logging in, try using your Upstate email with the “Forgot my password” feature—you should also be able to activate your account that way. I'll be giving a presentation on how best to study at an upcoming CAPP session- but don't forget to get some content under your belt in addition to questions!
Also, please keep in mind that you were given partial access at this time. UWorld distributes the 17‑month subscription in two installments, and you will receive information about how to extend the remaining portion as the expiration of this initial installment approaches. This ensures that you will have access through your clerkships and Step 2 study (with access ending at your cohort's Step 2 Deadline in August 2027).
I’d also like to remind everyone to please go into the Medical Boards Brightspace page we used during Step 1 preparation and report your Step 1 assessment scores. Dr. Maimone and I are building a comprehensive performance model, and we currently have very few reported scores. The more data points we have, the stronger and more useful the model will be.
Lastly, you will soon be receiving an email with the practice vouchers for each of your clerkships. You may have already seen mention of these in your course syllabi, and I want to assure you they are on the way and should be in your inbox by the end of the week. Please make sure you either print and save the voucher email or save it to your hard drive. Each year, these emails are occasionally purged from students’ inboxes, and it can take me a few days to re‑send them. To avoid any delay in your ability to complete required practice exams according to your clerkship schedule, please keep these vouchers readily accessible.
Thank you all, and please reach out with any additional questions.
Warm regards,
MaryAnn
