Dear Medical Students,

If you are interested in getting involved in research, the Office of Research for Medical Students (ORMS) can help connect you with faculty mentors and available projects.

Please visit the ORMS website and complete the Student Profile/Research Interest Form: https://www.upstate.edu/comorms/intra/stu-index.php

For some types of projects, no prior research experience is required. You also do not need to have a specific project in mind. Simply tell us about the areas that interest you and what you would like to explore.

Research opportunities may include clinical, basic science, translational, quality improvement, medical education, retrospective/chart review, case-based, and other scholarly projects.

Participation in research can also support career exploration, mentorship, presentations and publications, and may lead to eligibility for ORMS programs such as the Summer Research Fellowship, MS2-MS4 fellowships, the Medical Student Research Microcredential, and travel support for presentations when available.

Students at all stages of medical school are encouraged to submit a request.
