Hi all! I just wanted to send out a quick reminder- The College of Medicine (COM) offers tutoring services for all M1 & M2 Units, Clerkships, STEP 1 & STEP 2 prep, and General Tutoring, to help strengthen both learning and study skills.

Peer tutors work one-on-one or in small groups with fellow students offering academic support and expertise in an informal setting. For students having trouble in their course work, peer tutors can be an important source of individualized help.

The majority of our tutors are fourth year medical students who are also members of Alpha Omega Alpha, the Medical Honor Society. We also welcome fourth year volunteer tutors, who performed very well in the basic sciences, who would like to gain leadership skills and add tutoring experience to your CV. Some tutors may also be eligible for academic elective credit, based on the number of hours provided.

Some reasons that students may request tutoring:

  * You want a tutor to help you review content regularly to stay on top of material
  * You want to go over practice questions with a tutor’s guidance
  * You want advice from an M4 in general areas (time management, study skills, note taking, transitioning to med school, third party resources, specialty interests, etc.)
  *
You want tutoring help for a clerkship shelf or SPE
  * You want help with STEP 1 or STEP 2 board prep
  * Here is the link if you feel tutoring would be helpful for you: Tutoring Request Form<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://forms.cloud.microsoft/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=Zgr1XCZe3UGJ-IPPc__umNWS5yke8BNLpDXe8MLbvhJUOTkzOEkwVlFUVTRYWUMwSkJDR0c0OFVWTSQlQCN0PWcu&route=shorturl__;!!GobTDDpD7A!NJDnAVKr4pocrPA4ntL5XAVWqDEJvEwRWbtFdYYigWxa0JmoLBPBrnbAnUtlTiCL-qK5-K-2HOO2RHSGWrv1bDniDQjLMw$>.

Once a request is submitted, you will be contacted by a tutor within a few days to make your initial appointment.

Tutoring session are student led. Please come prepared to your sessions with concepts or items you would like to discuss or get advice on from your tutor.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Malissa
