<b>Mayo Clinic Orthopedic Surgery Research Gap Year Program </b>is a paid, 12-month clinical research fellowship for rising second- and third-year U.S. medical students interested in orthopedic surgery. Fellows work with faculty mentors in one of six subspecialties,
Foot & Ankle, Hip & Knee, Pediatrics, Shoulder & Elbow, Sports Medicine, or Trauma, and third-year students complete a one-month orthopedic clerkship at the end of the year.</span></p>
