We are inviting medical students at Upstate Medical University to participate in a research study titled
<b>“Moral Distress in Medical Trainees.”</b></div>
<div class="elementToProof" style="line-height: 1.38; margin: 0in 0in 8pt; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 16px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">
The purpose of this study is to better understand medical students’ experiences with moral distress and ethically challenging situations during their medical education. We hope to learn more about the circumstances that contribute to these experiences, their
 impact on students, and ways medical education may better support trainees.</div>

Participation involves <b>one individual interview lasting approximately 30-45 minutes</b>. During the interview, you will be asked about your experiences with ethically challenging situations during medical school and your perspectives on moral distress. The
 interview will not be audio or video recorded; the researcher will take typed notes.</div>

Participation is completely voluntary. You may decline to answer any questions or stop participating at any time.</div>

To protect confidentiality, participants will be asked not to provide names or identifying information about patients, faculty, residents, classmates, or others when discussing their experiences. Study findings may be presented or published, but participants
 will not be identified.</div>

<b>18 years of age or older</b></li><li style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 16px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); line-height: 115%;">
<b>Able to participate in an interview conducted in English</b></li></ul>
