Dear first-year COM students,

We know that by this point in the year, many of you are feeling the stress of medical school and some of you may be feeling overwhelmed. At times like this, many of us will neglect our personal wellness as we try to meet demands and stay afloat. This is unfortunate, because our wellness is the critical foundation to success.

Whether you feel that you’re struggling or not, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of a free, confidential opportunity to meet with a Student Counseling staff member to talk about how things are going for you. This meeting will help you to identify areas of strength and vulnerability and to decide whether additional supports or resources may be helpful to you, either now or in the future.

UFirst! Is a brief (20-minute), free and confidential meeting that you can self-schedule. You’re not required to engage in ongoing services unless you want them. Our sole goal is to help you identify areas of potential concern and whether/how campus services may be useful to you.

Please see the attached flyer for more information or click here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://upstate.titaniumhwc.com/UFirstScreening__;!!GobTDDpD7A!JL0j_nK1-qhlrxq-rpUEybgvz9VBogX7EgjgvNPZHKq7iEt_nZ94oe_aCJ-9qGOdfXE5OYXkvtVKm5Zlf0gZ28FQ6UjWwg$ > to register for a screening.

Please note that UFirst! isn’t appropriate to use for urgent or crisis needs – call us at 315-464-3120 if you need to speak with someone urgently. As always, BetterMynd’s confidential hotline is also available 24/7 at 844-287-6963.

We look forward to meeting you!
