Subject: [EXTERNAL] Poster Session @ Science Teacher Conference (Sun, Nov 8th)
Good morning all, My name is Daniel Collins, and I am the Associate Director of K-12 Programs at SUNY ESF, but emailing today in my role as the College representative for the Central section of the Science Teacher Association of NY State (STANYS).
Good morning all,
My name is Daniel Collins, and I am the Associate Director of K-12 Programs at SUNY ESF, but emailing today in my role as the College representative for the Central section of the Science Teacher Association of NY State (STANYS). I am writing to ask you to circulate the following opportunity among your students and faculty, and feel free to forward to others in your school that you do not see on this email that you think may have an interest:
On Sunday, Nov 8th, beginning at 10:45am, the Science Teacher Association of NY State (STANYS) will be hosting a poster session at the OnCenter here in Syracuse. I have been specifically asked to help recruit students who wish to share their work with a broader audience (i.e., K-12 science teachers from across NY). The posters can be specifically about your research and the science that supports/intersects with it, or it can be about any classroom/outreach activities you do that a K-12 teacher might be able to bring to their classroom. The poster session will run for approximately 1 hour (until 11:45am), and we will provide stands for your posters (we recommend 3' by 4', landscape orientation). More information about the conference can be found here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.stanysconference.org/__;!!GobTDDpD7A!Njonnm5t44tqxDO-sNLBzePHGSvuNdjUf5db3XRYJZze9SzVqPm1CGiUGvo7QEgU8KEkLYjFus8rhaPZFLA$>.
Students are able to register for free if they just wish to attend the poster session, or can attend the full day and go to sessions for $25. This is the second year this poster session is happening, and the students last year spoke to a lot of teachers, and reported very positively of their experience.
You can use this link<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScBeZwKHANeTusf4qgBOX3def-MF0TY6a20qIDegDcdNk6Zhw/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=110601190884759490021__;!!GobTDDpD7A!Njonnm5t44tqxDO-sNLBzePHGSvuNdjUf5db3XRYJZze9SzVqPm1CGiUGvo7QEgU8KEkLYjFus8rL4LuvIs$> to register your poster. Please use your school email address for registration and select "Central" for the STANYS section. We ask that you please register your poster by October 31st. We will follow up with you by Nov 2nd with all of the information you need for day-of participation.
If you have questions, please feel free to email me (dbcollin at esf.edu<mailto:dbcollin at esf.edu>). I am also happy to consult on poster design/scientific depth as needed.
