As we celebrate Nurses Week, I want to pause and recognize our extraordinary Upstate Nursing team.

Every day, you bring skill, compassion, and resilience while caring for patients and families during some of the most critical moments of their lives. Whether at the bedside, in clinics, classrooms, research, leadership, or throughout our community, your impact is felt in ways that defy measurement. You are, and remain, the heart of our mission and the foundation of our success.

This year is especially meaningful as we continue to celebrate our second Magnet designation, a powerful affirmation of Upstate Nursing's excellence made possible by you. Magnet is the lived experience of professional practice, shared governance, innovation, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right for patients and for one another. You bring those principles to life everyday in every care setting across our system.

Nursing today is more complex and demanding than ever. You navigate a relentless pace of change, high volumes, rising patient acuity, workforce challenges, and evolving care models. Despite these ongoing challenges, you continue to lead with integrity, empathy, and courage. That dedication matters. It matters to our patients, to our organization, and to the communities we serve across Central New York.

On behalf of the entire Nursing leadership team, thank you for your professionalism, advocacy, and commitment to excellence. Thank you for mentoring the next generation, advancing the profession, and never losing sight of the human connection at the center of care.
