Are you looking for a fun way to get involved on campus? Interested in learning more about learner assessment and program evaluation? Would you like to make connections with Faculty and Staff outside of your College or Program? Are you interested in a great CV builder that might just help you land your dream job at a University after you graduate?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then the Student Learning Outcome Committee (SLOC) might be a great fit for you! We are currently recruiting 1 to 2 student members to serve on our committee!

The Student Learning Outcome Committee’s (SLOC) charge is:

  1. To create and maintain a portfolio of the programs of assessment of student learning and evaluation of educational programs at both the college and institutional level
  2. To foster best practices and quality improvement in assessment of student learning, evaluation of educational programs, and use of these outcomes in program planning across colleges
  3. To facilitate program compliance with accreditation standards regarding the assessment of student learning and use of outcomes for institutional effectiveness from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

If you are selected to serve as a SLOC student representative you will be asked to attend our monthly meetings which occur the third Thursday of each month from 11:00AM until 12:00PM. You might also be asked to occasionally review documents, such as program curriculum maps, prior to the committee meetings. This should take no more than an hour of your time each month.

If you have any questions please contact Dr. Lauren Germain at GermainL at upstate.edu<mailto:GermainL at upstate.edu>. Or you can also ask me or Dr. Formica because we also serve on the committee!

If you are interested in applying, please fill out the application below by February 17th, 2021.
