Case Presentation
Case 1:
Patient is a 32 yo F who presented to an ED with AMS. Known substance use disorder. However, she does not improve like she normally does when allowed to metabolize. The provider notices that her respiratory rate is elevated and adds on labs. APAP comes back >400.
Case 2:
Patient is a 45 yo F who presented for not feeling well. She has felt shaky. Medical history is significant for asthma/COPD. She is a smoker, though she has not been smoking much the past week. The patient is tachycardic, a BP of 98/40, a potassium of 3.0, a lactate of 2.8.
Case 3:
Patient is a 45 yo M who presents to the ED thinking he may have eaten the wrong plant. He is a forager. He made a soup out of the plants he found and did not feel well after. He had an episode of vomiting, now has a HR 45, BP 65/44
