This Thursday for case conference, we will be discussing the following three cases. Please be prepared to discuss:

A 56-year-old Chinese female presents with dizziness, paresthesias, and shortness of breath. She recently started using a new product for her night sweats. Her vital signs are: BP 90/60, HR 130, RR 18, T 37, 99% on RA

A 2-year-old female, G tube dependent, presents to the emergency department with a change in mental status. She received what her caregiver thought was her usual medications through her G tube. Her vital signs are: HR 152, BP 70/42, RR 35, T 34, 94% on RA

A 36 year old male presents with changes to his vision, abdominal pain, and difficulty urinating for one day. Earlier in the day, he drank something that his friend told him might help his cholesterol. His vital signs are: HR 90, RR 16, T 37, BP 106/70, O2 96%

For journal club this week, we're going to review two landmark articles on caustic ingestions since this is something that you haven't yet covered and relevant to your practice. I've attached Crain & Prevetera for us to review together. I've also attached a NEJM review by Dr Hoffman that we won't review as a group, but is a useful, high yield article to have.

See you at 1:30 Thursday
