Dear Colleagues:

I am sorry to share the news that Dr. Neal Seidberg passed away recently after a long illness.

Dr. Seidberg was Associate Professor of Pediatrics, who during his long Upstate career was especially known for his work as a Pediatric Critical Care physician and leader, Pediatric Transport Team leader, and Hospital Informatics pioneer.
He was a friend to all, and we will miss his smile and good nature.

During this difficult time, we think of his family, including his wife Dr. Tobey Kresel, a member of our Upstate Pediatrics faculty.

While we do not yet information about services, Dr. Jaclyn Sisskind has shared the following helpful information:

It is the Jewish tradition to sit shiva- a mourning period at home where friends and family provide food, cleaning, prayer, and company to the family so they do not need
to worry about taking care of themselves, and they are not alone. Unfortunately, shiva is very complicated over Passover, which begins Wednesday night.

I talked to Tobey about this last night and told her that our office will provide a meal for her family on Sunday night (3/29). This will be for her, the girls, and 6-8
additional people. She was very appreciative of this. I will be ordering in for her family and bringing dessert, as well as some breakfast items for the next few days that will be ok to eat on Passover.
