The medical gas outlet inspections will be starting on Wednesday April 2nd.

It is understood this will be an inconvenience to all areas.

Patient areas will be coordinated with the Charge Nurse since patients and visitors will remain in the room during the testing.

If there are procedures, treatments or other patient concerns, where we will not be able to enter at that time, a list of rooms not completed will be finished later as soon as access is available.

With over 6,000 outlets, the inspection will take several weeks.

We appreciate the assistance of Nursing Staff to move patient's equipment over to another outlet as we go room to room and complete as many outlets as possible without having to return to the room at a later time.

Respiratory Therapy will be assisting when there aren't any available outlets for Nursing Staff to move respiratory equipment over to available outlets.

A list of discrepancies will be compiled and a plan to upgrade/repair affected outlets will be developed and implemented at a later date.

Please contact Rob Picarel, Plumbing Manager with any questions or concerns at picarelr at upstate.edu<mailto:picarelr at upstate.edu>.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
