[UHCampus] FW: 1112.6 - UH Building Turn Circle & Pedestrian Bridge Closure 07/10

As part of the Nuclear Camera renovation project within the basement, on Saturday, July 10th the Turn Circle and Pedestrian bridge will be closed to accommodate a crane and condensing unit. The main entrance will remain operational for pedestrian traffic but pedestrian traffic from the East Garage will need to cross East Adams Street at grade level to the west side of the traffic circle where entry to the building will occur at the Cancer Center Entrance.



Please share this information with all of the end-users and patients in both buildings so all are aware.



UMU Design and Construction has a construction crane scheduled for setting up within the Main turn circle of East Adams Street, along the west side of the pedestrian bridge going into University Hospital from the Parking garage.



Schedule of Crane: On Saturday, July 10th, 2021.

The crane will be delivered at 7 am.

The crane will be set up from 7 am until 9 am.

The crane will be doing a test swing from 8 am to 9 am.

The crane will be in use until 4 pm.



Description of work requiring crane: The crane will be used to remove the hatch into the basement, and we are removing (4) decommissioned units and installing (1) new unit, in support of the Nuclear Camera Renovation. The crane's boom will extend over the roof of the Pulmonary Clinic and the pedestrian bridge.



Closures / Restrictions due to the Crane work on dates 7/10: Due to the crane lift, we will need to divert pedestrian traffic into the Cancer Center Main Entrance from 6 am until 5 pm Saturday the 10th of July. Pulmonary Clinic will need to be closed to personnel and patients for their protection until Saturday after 5 pm.

These restrictions will begin at 6 am until 5 pm, on the 10th of July. All movement of persons and material through these areas will need to occur either before or after this time window or use the alternate provide.
