Happy New Year. I was out the second half of December for a septoplasty. I have some updates about UNYOC 2026 that we can discuss today.

The long and short of it is that NYLA doesn’t have room for us to co-program during the entire conference. They did express interest in having UNYOC members submit proposals but cannot guarantee a track of our own. Their conference has about 850 people so the spaces are mostly already booked without additional room. They did say there was room on Wednesday for our programming if we wanted to hold our event that day.

The options I’d like to discuss are:


  1.
Holding UNYOC 2026 in Saratoga Springs earlier in the week (Tuesday, Wednesday)
     *
At a hotel in Saratoga Springs
     *
At Empire State University if they have the space (this option would likely be less expensive but would cause people to have to get from the hotel to the venue and may not be as nice.
  2.
Maybe having the CE event remain online so that more people can attend it (and then it doesn’t have to be right during the conference)
  3.
 Holding UNYOC 2026 somewhere else at a different time.

I think we’re still meeting at 11:30 today so I’ll see you on Zoom.
