Schwartz Rounds gives us a chance in a confidential, supportive atmosphere, to discuss the social and emotional issues we face in caring for patients and families openly and honestly.  We are all better able to make personal connections with patients and colleagues when we have greater insight into our own responses and feelings. It is so easy to get out of touch with our human dimension in these highly stressful times.
