Hello CHP colleagues, and happy spring!
Below I am pasting an email from Ryan Green regarding commencement. Please read and RSVP so he knows how many to expect at the big event. I look forward to cheering our graduates alongside you on May 3, and seeing you at the pre-commencement reception on May 2.

Hello Upstate Faculty,



I wanted to reach out to faculty to get an idea of how many will be attending the commencement ceremony this year. Faculty are seated on the floor in front of the graduates facing the stage. This is done intentionally to show that the students are recommended by the faculty for the conferral of their degree as noted by each dean during the ceremony. It is also a great way to support the students you have been teaching during their time at Upstate. Please fill out the link below by Sunday, April 26 if you are attending this year so we have enough seats. We ask that faculty be in full academic regalia – robe, tam, and hood (if earned).

Please plan to arrive between 8:30am – 9:00am. We will begin lining up 15 – 20 minutes before the 10pm start. Please report to the Multipurpose Room to get ready for the ceremony. We will secure the space when the ceremony begins if you would like to leave any personal items in the room. The Multipurpose Room is to the first room to right of the main entrance. For reference here is the procession order: Students, Faculty, Stage Party. There will be many student affairs staff on hand the day of the ceremony to help coordinate and manage the flow of everything.

8:30am – Doors open for students, faculty, & guests

10:00am – Procession Begins

Ceremony is usually 1.5 – 2 hours in length



Parking is free at OCC and you are able to utilize any parking lot on campus.
