Attention Inpatient Surgeons
Effective Monday November 17, 2025, Surgeons must be aware of the Dismiss Reason button available for Post Op patients who have diabetes type 2 and meet certain criteria. Per ADA guidelines an Insulin OPA will fire when insulin is ordered, and conditions are met in Post Op areas.

Attention Inpatient Providers
Effective Monday November 17, 2025, Per ADA guidelines, an Insulin OPA will fire when insulin is ordered within the first 24 hours of an inpatient stay for patients 65+ with Diabetes Type 2 and meet certain criteria. Guidance is provided by the OPA which will fire when appropriate.
