[epicproviders] Arriving Anonymous Patients in the Emergency Department

[Epic - All Provider Staff]

Attention Inpatient Providers:

Effective October 8th, 2026: Occasionally patients present to the Emergency Department, who are unable to self-identify or are classified as a level I/II trauma code patient. In both scenarios, staff must create a new anonymous patient record, and Epic automatically assigns a name from a pre-set unidentified name list, using the first name "Unidentified" with assigned last names in accordance with the Unidentified Patient Policy.
