[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Update - Critical blood collection tube shortage

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing. In an attempt to keep us all on the same page, the Laboratory Formulary Committee will be regularly sending out emails with recent updates and guidances. Below are the short versions of relevant changes. More in-depth resources about the changes are attached.

Blood Collection Tube Shortage:  There is a national shortage of blood collection tubes.  We are taking multiple steps to ensure that sufficient collection tubes are available for essential patient testing.  Please see the attached guidance for suggestions to help conserve the remaining stock of blood collection tubes.
