[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - Chemistry collection tube change to GOLD TUBES

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing. In an attempt to keep us all on the same page, the Laboratory Formulary Committee will be regularly sending out emails with recent updates and guidances. Below are the short versions of relevant changes.

Change from Light Green Top tubes to Gold Top tubes for Chemistry Testing: Due to a critical shortage of the Light Green Top tubes used for chemistry testing, samples for most chemistry tests should be drawn using Gold Top tubes starting NOW.  5th Generation Troponin testing can only be performed on samples drawn in Light Green Top tubes, so Troponins must be drawn in Light Green Top tubes.  Instructions for which tube to use for each assay will be updated in Collection Manager and Epic as quickly as possible.  Please see the attached guidance for more information.
