[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - Thyroid antibody testing change

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing.  The Laboratory Formulary Committee regularly sends out emails with new updates and changes.

Thyroid Antibody testing change:  Beginning 7/18/2023, the Thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb; LAB533) and Thyroperoxidase antibodies (TPOAb; LAB858) will transition to new, more robust and reliable assays.  The reported quantitation is different from the current assay due to the change in methodologies.  Testing results must be interpreted based on the new normal ranges.
