[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - Change in Swab for Specimen Collection

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing.  The Laboratory Formulary Committee regularly sends out emails with new updates and changes.



Swab Device Change for Specimen Collection:  Starting July 8th, 2024, the swab currently used for collecting culture samples (other than nasopharyngeal viral swab collection) will be replaced with a new swab.  No changes are needed for ordering of the cultures, test performance, or reporting.  Please see the attached guidance for further details.
