[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - Transfusion Consent

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing.  The Laboratory Formulary Committee regularly sends out emails with new updates and changes.



Transfusion Consent Change:  Starting August 1st 2024, the Consent for Transfusion (Form #41485) will be updated to include an option for patients to indicate their agreement to transfusion of select blood products/derivatives rather than the current consent which has only all/none options.  This allows for greater patient agency and clarity of the patient's wishes to the clinical team.  Please see the attached guidance for further details.
