[mdphd] Fwd: [EXTERNAL] ONE MONTH to take advantage of early-bird registration for #APSA20!

Hey All,

The APSA/ASCI/AAP joint meeting will take place April 3-5. This is the
national meeting for our professional organization, and probably the best
place to learn about the larger clinician-scientist training and career
ecosystem in the US. No matter what year of the program you're in, it's a
great and educational experience. Sadly the abstract deadline was quite
early, and was not extended as it has been in past years.

Since we're all APSA members through an institutional membership funded by
the president's office, registration is only 125$ (100$ early bird), plus
we have registration fee waivers available for three students. For travel,
lodging, and food including conference meal events (all generally
excellent), don't forget that we're all (CoM-years people too) eligible for
GSEU professional development funds which are not contingent on presenting
research. Tracy also told me in no uncertain terms that she considered
CoM-years MD/PhDs to be grad students for the purpose of CoGS funding,
though of course that would need to be confirmed with... whoever gets to
make those decisions now. The APSA club should also have a few hundred
bucks to chip in towards the cause.

Finally, with the support of CoGS, the co-directors have promised that they
will start attending these meetings (and Keystone) to network with MD/PhD
and Research-in-Residency program directors from across the country.
Leszek, Andras, this reminder is for you as well!

Best,
~ Alan
