Graduate Women In Science (GWIS) is hosting a seminar NEXT THURSDAY to hear from a prominent female scientist—Dr. Heidi J. Zapata, MD, PhD—about both her work and career journey to inspire and promote diversity in STEM. Join us to learn from a talented physician scientist who exemplifies leadership... plus, FREE coffee and snacks will be provided!

Heidi J. Zapata, MD, PhD, is an infectious disease specialist and immunologist at Yale School of Medicine. As a physician-scientist, she sees both hospital inpatients and HIV-positive outpatients while working to identify determinants of disease severity. Dr. Zapata is also an assistant professor of medicine (infectious diseases) in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Zapata is an Upstate MD-PhD alum (class of 2008)!

A casual meet-and-greet lunch with the speaker and GWIS leadership will be catered following Dr. Zapata's talk.
